If you saw the announcement on The Radavist or the tease in our previous email (you read these, right?), then you know we have a big project in the works, our CORDRUA® Combat Wool™ Capsule Collection. A little over a year ago, Matt discovered CORDURA® Combat Wool™ and it was love at first touch. It has the look, comfort, and feel of 100% Merino wool infused with long lasting durability. Compared to a traditional wool, it has 10x better abrasion resistance, 2.1x better tensile, and 1.4x better tear resistance. In other words, it’s a dream fabric for what we think a swrve garment should be: durable, comfortable, and functional. The Combat Wool™ Capsule Collection is going include short and long-sleeve button-up shirts, a work jacket, an unstructured blazer, and a cap. On August 31, will be launching our first-ever Kickstarter to help fund this project. Our goal is to raise $18,300, which is half the fabric cost. Backers will receive one or more garments of their choosing, depending on their level of backing. We’ll also have some fun bonus rewards as well. As many of you know, we’re a tiny company. But did you know that in the 12 years we’ve been in business we’ve never used outside funding? Our focus from the start has been to make the best possible products and we believe that having an outside influence focused on the money side of things would distract us from our goal. We’re using Kickstarter for this project because we could not afford to launch it on our own. Kickstarter allows us to keep our goals and values aligned with you, our loyal customers. As your repeat business has shown, our quality-first business model works and we’d much rather be held accountable to those who have backed us by putting our gear through the wringer than anyone else.
